Fight in North Miami bar parking lot turns deadly: Police

A woman was arrested for allegedly fatally running another woman down with her car in a North Miami parking lot after a fight turned physical, police said.

Maria Tellez, 29, was taken into custody Friday afternoon, hours after allegedly killing Paola Cordoba.

The wild scene happened outside Billy's Pub II, at 732 Northeast 125th St. around 3:45 a.m., according to North Miami Police.

Police say Cordoba and Tellez got into a fight into a verbal fight in the bar's parking lot, which quickly got physical, and Tellez allegedly pushed Cordoba to the ground.

That's when Tellez, drive over Cordoba in her BMW SUV as she fled the scene, police said.

Officers found Cordoba lying on the pavement, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
