Coral Gables AT&T Manager Accused of Stealing Customers' Identities

A manager at a Coral Gables AT&T store was arrested after police say he stole credit card and identification information from two customers that he used to try to make purchases with.

Quin C. Curtis, 22, was arrested Monday on charges of grand theft - conspiracy and attempted fraudulent use of identification, according to an arrest report.

The incident happened last week at the store at 1556 S. Dixie Highway when Curtis, the manager of the store, was supposed to be helping the customers with a billing issue for their cellular service.

Curtis requested their personal information to help them with the issue and the victims gave him their licenses. One victim also handed over their credit card while the other gave him their social security number, the report said.

The victims were in the store for more than two hours and saw Curtis exiting the store with their personal information while talking and texting on his phone, the report said.

While the victims were in the store, two attempts were made to use one of the victim's credit cards at Finish Line and Foot Action for more than $700 total but both attempts failed, the report said.

Within 45 minutes of the victims leaving the store, the other victim received a notice of a fraudulent online account for Walmart using her social security number, the report said.

Detectives later arrested Curtis, who was booked into jail where he was being held on $8,500 bond Tuesday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
