Someone on social media is criticizing the city of Coral Gables - and now city leaders are fighting back in court
An unknown person set up a handful of social media accounts criticizing the city for its use of private security guards starting in May.
Later that month, the city threatened to fine Facebook and Instagram $500 a day if they didn't remove the posts.
Now, the city is suing the multi-billion-dollar businesses in an attempt to get the name, phone number, and address of whoever is responsible for the derogatory posts.
NBC 6 has reached out to Facebook for comment.
