Coral Springs Man Pleads Not Guilty to Child Porn Charges

The Broward Sheriff's Office said John Jefferson Field was spotted videotaping children by a lifeguard stand in Deerfield Beach

A Coral Springs man who allegedly videotaped young children as they washed off  at the beach pleaded not guilty to 100 counts of possession of child pornography on Friday.

John Jefferson Field, 67, was spotted videotaping children by a lifeguard stand in Deerfield Beach on Nov. 23, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. A deputy who seized the camera found videos of unclothed girls, mostly less than 5 years of age, washing off at the public beach showers, authorities said.

Field told the deputy he had been collecting kiddie porn for about 13 years, authorities said.

A search of Field's media storage devices at his home turned up over 50,000 explicit images of girls between 1 and 12 years old and about a dozen videos of boys engaged in sex acts, BSO said.

A South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force detective who met with Field said "he referred to his lifelong attraction to children as 'much more than a fetish,'" BSO said.
