Delma Pineda, died at the age of 44 on March 6 following a procedure at CG Cosmetic Surgery, located at 2601 SW 37th Ave. in Miami.

Pineda's family has acquired a lawyer. The ex-husband said she will be buried in California on Friday.

CG Cosmetic Surgery said it is its "preliminary understanding" that Pineda's death was unrelated to its services.

"Our prayers go out to the family of the deceased," CG Cosmetic's attorney said in a statement. "CG Cosmetic has been in touch with the family throughout this entire process. It is our preliminary understanding that the events giving rise to this incident are unrelated to CG Cosmetic's services."

A GoFundMe page said that Pineda's "family is devastated."

"She was a single mother who worked as a medical assistant. She spent her life taking care of others and now we want to take care of her and her family," the GoFundMe page reads. "Unfortunately, she and her 4-year-old son were in Miami away from all of her family and friends when she passed away."
