Two firefighters, including a lieutenant, were hurt as Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units battled a large hay and manure fire in Miami Gardens.
The large fire broke out in the overnight hours Monday around 2 a.m. at the Northwest Distributors MannaPro hay and manure storage business located at 20656 Northwest 17th Avenue.
Barrels upon barrels of hay at the 30,000 square foot facility made it difficult for crews to battle the blaze.
Crews are expected to be on the scene for another six to eight hours, officials said.
The two firefighters hurt in the fire are expected to be okay. The lieutenant was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, while the other firefighter was treated at the scene.
A number of horses at the facility were also said to be unharmed by the fire.
