Crews Respond to Pepper Spray Incident at Miami Norland Senior High School

Crews responded to Miami Norland Senior High School in Miami Gardens Wednesday after a reported pepper spray incident.

Miami-Dade Public Schools officials said people at the school at 1193 Northwest 193rd Street were being treated after a student said the incident happened in the gymnasium.

Officials said the incident began when two female students got into an altercation and someone used the pepper spray, which affected nearby students. Footage showed multiple fire rescue crews and police at the scene.

Two people were taken to a local hospital, and 14 others were evaluated at the school, officials said.

No other information was immediately known.
