Crews Put Out Major Yacht Fire at Palm Beach County Boat Yard

Crews spent over five hours Tuesday morning putting out a major fire that engulfed a yacht at a boat yard in Palm Beach County.

NBC affiliate WPTV-TV reported that the fire started around 6 a.m. at the yard located next to the Riviera Beach City Marina – initially starting as just smoke being sighted, but large flames could be seen within the next hour.

Fire rescue crews continued working to keep the fire from spreading to other vessels in the boat yard while an official from the Port of Palm Beach has said the fire kept cruise ships from docking in the area.

No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire has not been released. Officials were able to get the fire under control around 11 a.m.
