Fire rescue crews were working to help two whales that were stranded near Clearwater Wednesday.
The whales became stranded on Sand Key, Clearwater Fire & Rescue officials said. Workers from Clearwater Marine Aquarium were assisting.
Photos and video posted on social media showed workers in the water trying to help the false killer whales.
Officials say they're not sure what caused the whales to become distressed.
