A man apparently desperate for smokes pulled a fast one at a Walgreens in Pompano Beach.
Surveillance footage showed a man wearing a dark hoodie walk into the Walgreens on the 900 block of South Powerline Road on Nov. 24. Video shows the man approach the cashier with bottle of Mountain Dew. He can be seen asking the employee for a box of cigarettes.
Footage also shows the suspect acting like he was about to pay for the items, even pulling out a credit card to swipe. But then the man yanked the carton of Newport Kings Cigarettes and soda bottle from the counter and dashed from the store.
The man remains on the run. Anyone with information on this robbery is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
