Davie Police Investigating Possible Sexual Assault of Two NSU Students

Two students at Nova Southeastern University say they were drugged and sexually assaulted late Monday night by two men they had met for drinks, police say.

Davie police and the NSU public safety department are investigating. "Our detectives have taken these victims to the treatment center," said Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle. "We believe a crime has occurred."

The two students said they were sexually assaulted by two men sometime late Monday night or very early Tuesday morning, between 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., the university's public safety department said in a release.

The women said they met two men for drinks at an off-campus bar in Davie, and they believe their drinks were drugged.

The two men then took them to an off-campus apartment and sexually assaulted them, the women said. The report indicates that the attack didn't stop there, as the victims say the suspects drove them back to campus and sexually assaulted them again in their dorm rooms.

According to the victims, one of the suspects is a white or Hispanic male, about 5'11", with a medium build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and dark-colored jeans.

The other suspect is also a white or Hispanic male with a Mohawk-style haircut, about 5'11" and thin, wearing a light-colored collared shirt and dark jeans, according to the victims.

The victims say the suspects drove a Black Nissan 350Z.

University officials would not comment on any specifics of the case, but noted that Nova Southeastern University's public safety office and administration are fully cooperating with Davie police on the ongoing investigation.
