Davie Teen Arrested for Message Wanting to ‘Shoot Up School': Police

A Davie teen was arrested Thursday after allegedly posting on social media that he wanted to "shoot up a school."

Davie police officials said the message was written by a Nova High School student on Discord, an app for gamers. A student reported the message to BSO.

"I want to shoot up a school. This is a genuine feeling," the message reads in part.

While in custody, the boy told detectives that he had no intent in following through with the threat and only "wanted people to feel the pain he felt."

The teen, who is not being identified because he is a minor, is facing a charge of written threats to kill or do bodily injury.

Nova High School officials said in a statement that although the threat did not identify a school, they're still taking precautionary measures on campus with law enforcement.
