A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Oakland Park Thursday morning.
Officers arrived at the scene near West Prospect Road and Powerline Road shortly before 4 a.m. The pedestrian, who was struck by a CSX train, died on the scene, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
The man was later identified as 38-year-old Robert Gray, of Oakland Park. The incident remains under investigation.
Drivers were being advised to avoid the area as westbound Commercial Boulevard was closed west of I-95 due to the investigation. Alternate routes include Cypress Creek Road and Oakland Park Boulevard.
