Dean of Students at Florida School Accused of Not Reporting Abuse on Bus

The dean of students at a central Florida elementary school is facing charges related to a sexual battery investigation involving a school bus driver.

Pasco County Sheriff's officials said in a news release on Tuesday that 34-year-old Courtney Stanley was arrested on two counts of failure to report child abuse.

Spokeswoman Carrie Hortsman says two students reported they had seen incidents of sexual battery on a bus to Stanley on April 8 and April 12. She says Stanley didn't report the incidents to school officials, the Department of Children and Families or law enforcement.

Officials say a counselor at Horizons Elementary School reported the alleged abuse to DCF and school officials on April 13 after hearing the reports from the students.

No further details were immediately available.
