Authorities continue investigating the death of woman found on the side of a major South Florida highway.
On Friday, the Florida Highway Patrol identified the woman as 40-year-old Michelle Wilson.
Police responded to a call Tuesday shortly after 3:30 a.m. where a Wilson's body was found on the ramp to State Road 874 – also known as the Don Shula Expressway - northbound from the Florida Turnpike.
Troopers said the woman had a cut on the back of her head but there weren't obvious signs she was run over or hit by a car.
According to the Miami Herald, a spokesman in the medical examiner’s office said the wound could have caused her death, but they haven't determined what caused it.
Police haven't shared any further information regarding the incident.
