Don't look for the clowns if you go to the Touch-a-Truck event in Largo Central Park. There won't be any.
That's because of the local, nonprofit group called Uptown Clowns got into a disagreement with Largo officials.
The Tampa Bay Times reports city officials say the clown group has been getting too good of a deal for too long.
The group has held a state clown convention at the cultural center on the same day the as the city event. The city gave the clowns a free room at the cultural center in exchange for showing up at the event next door.
Last year, the city charged $1,519 for facilities use. This year, the clowns say they can't afford it.
Clown Day will now be Feb. 1.
