Diver Dies After Being Pulled From Water Off Pompano Beach

Officials said 68-year-old Charles Adams had been out on a dive on a Safari boat

A diver has died after being pulled from the water at Pompano Beach Friday morning.

The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. off 2700 Ocean Boulevard, fire rescue officials said.

Officials said the 68-year-old man, Charles Adams, had been out on a dive on a Safari boat.

The diver was in distress when he was pulled from the water then brought to shore and rushed to a hospital, where he later died. Officials said Adams is from Fort Worth, Texas.

Detectives are investigating the diver's death.
