Dogs Seen Carried by Neck Into Miami-Dade Animal Services

What a viewer spotted outside of the Miami Dade Animal Services had her so upset, she snapped pictures and sent them to NBC 6 for help.

A man showed up at the shelter in Medley to surrender four black lab mixes. But when he dropped off the five month old puppies, he grabbed them by the skin on their necks.

"First of all, it hurts and these guys seem to be very scared as well; so it probably makes them feel like a punishment," said head veterinarian Doctor Maria Serrano.

"They're live creatures that have feelings just like everyone else so it's very unfortunate to see that," said Dr. Serrano.

The pictures were taken before the man headed inside the building. The vet said they're working to track the guy down to educate him on how to handle animals.

Volunteers have named all four of the puppies and they'll be ready for new loving homes soon. More than 50 animals are surrendered to the facility every day.

"They are shy but they are sweet, they just need a little love and they will be amazing pets," said Dr. Serrano.
