Dolphins Game Preview: Preseason Week Two vs. Ravens

The Miami Dolphins will host the Baltimore Ravens for a preseason game on Thursday at Hard Rock Stadium.

Jay Cutler will be making his debut for Miami in the game, but will likely not see many snaps. As is the case for teams around the league, the Dolphins will likely play it safe with their starting quarterback. After sitting out last week's win over Atlanta, Cutler was used heavily in practice this week. Now, the veteran will be able to run some plays against one of the better defenses in the NFL.

When Cutler's day comes to an end, Matt Moore is expected to step behind center again. Moore started last week's game and has seen plenty of time in practice himself. Miami will look to keep Moore game-ready, after Cutler's season ended early last year with an injury. Cutler had also retired from the league, before Miami came calling recently.

While Jay Ajayi is out of the concussion protocol, but is unlikely to play in this game. Ajayi has not been able to practice as much as Miami would like and will likely wait until next week's exhibition game. Ajayi was a key player for the Dolphins in 2016 and he'll have a heavy workload again this season.

Damien Williams will be a player to watch in this game. Miami's second-string running back should be involved in a number of plays. Williams rushed for 115 yards in 2016 and added three touchdowns. The 25-year old did not see many chances a year ago, due to the success of Ajayi.

With Kenyan Drake now in the concussion protocol himself, Williams will look to take advantage of an opportunity. Williams and Drake are competing for the job behind Ajayi on the depth chart. Drake was involved in a helmet to helmet collision on Monday during practice, but he may be able to return for next week's game.

Miami's injury list is long and seems to grow by the day. The Dolphins have already lost multiple players to season-ending injuries and will need to avoid additional losses. Only one game into the preseason, Miami's depth is already being tested and the results remain to be seen.
