Dolphins Top Texans for Second Straight Win

The Dolphins beat the Houston Texans on Sunday and have now won two games in a row

The Miami Dolphins beat the Houston Texans by a final score of 44-26 on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium.

The win was the second in a row for Miami as the team continues to rebound from a 1-3 start. Miami is now 2-0 under interim head coach Dan Campbell, and has won both games relatively easily.

The Dolphins scored 41 points in the first half alone which set a franchise record. Miami's high in points for a half before this one was 35 back in 1967 against the Boston Patriots. Miami had not previously eclipsed the 40-point mark in even an entire game this year.

The second half was a bit of a different story for the Dolphins. In the third quarter, the Texans outscored Miami 13-0. Houston would make their deficit smaller in the fourth quarter, but ultimately fell short of making it a close game.

Ryan Tannehill had a strong game going a 18-19 on his passes. Miami's quarterback threw four touchdown passes and no interceptions. Tannehill had thrown seven picks in his last three games combined before this effort. The QB tallied 282 yards and had a rating of 158.3 for the game.

Lamar Miller posted big numbers of his own with 174 yards on 14 carries. The ground game has greatly improved for the Dolphins in the last two games. Under the previous coaching regime, Miami struggled to get its running game going. Over the last two games, Miller has quickly turned into one of the league's most productive runners.

Defensively Miami showed plenty of intensity for a second straight game. Ndamukong Suh picked up his first sack in a Miami uniform, and added a second later on. Suh completed six tackles in the game overall. Rashad Jones returned Miami's lone interception on the day for a touchdown.

The Dolphins will only have three days off before a Thursday night game against the New England Patriots.
