Downtown Hollywood To Get First New Hotel Since 1969

For the first time since 1969, a hotel is coming to downtown Hollywood.

The new CIRC Hotel will be located near Young Circle and is scheduled to open in early 2018, according to a news release. The 12-story hotel will feature a rooftop bar, Italian restaurant, fitness center and pool deck, among other amenities.

The last hotel that was constructed in downtown Hollywood was the Ramada Inn, located on 1925 Harrison St. The Ramada was finalized almost 50 years ago, Broward County Property Appraiser records show.

Each of the 111 rooms and suites at the Circ Hotel will be furnished with a seating area, wet bar, 55-inch television and bath with rainshower. Some rooms will also include balconies, according to the news release. Introductory rates begin at $189 per night.

The hotel is a short distance away from the heart of downtown Hollywood, a colorful hub of boutiques, restaurants, cafés and bars. The CIRC is directly across from the ArtsPark at Young Circle, which features an amphitheater for concerts as wells as an arts pavilion offering glass blowing, jewelry making and painting classes.

“CIRC Hotel was designed to reflect Downtown Hollywood’s unique, culture-centric personality,” Kara Lundgren, CIRC Hotel’s General Manager, said in a statement. “It will be the ultimate haven for business professionals, vacationers and social groups to indulge, relax and unwind.”

The Olivia Restaurant & Bar is by South Florida restaurateur Piero Filpi and Marcello Sindoni, the news release says. The Muse Rooftop Bar & Lounge will be located on the 12th floor pool deck. In addition, the hotel is expected to have 3,000 square-feet of meeting space on the 11th floor.

The CIRC Hotel, operated by Trust Hospitality, will be located at 1780 Polk St. The Coral Gables-based Trust Hospitality group manages a series of boutique hotels and resorts in the United States, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

An exact opening date has not been announced, but the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports the CIRC hotel and corresponding restaurant will open in early February.
