A man was pried from his car early Saturday morning after smashing into the back of a truck in Hialeah Gardens.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews responded to a crash on Okeechobee Road near Northwest 105th Way, where one vehicle ended up underneath a truck.
According to MDFR spokesperson Rogelio Vandams, crews worked for over an hour to pry a man trapped inside a vehicle underneath the truck.
MDFR crews used hydraulic systems as well as the jaws of life in order to remove the roof and doors of the vehicle, Vandams said.
The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
