Driver Rescued After Car Plunges Into Canal in Fort Lauderdale

Man pulled from car in area of NE 26th Street and N. Federal Highway

A man was pulled from his car after it plunged into a canal in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday morning, officials said.

The incident happened in the area of Northeast 26th Street and North Federal Highway.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials said one man was rescued from the car and no one else was inside.

Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Investigated in Dania Beach

The man's condition is unknown but footage from the scene showed the man walking and sitting on a stretcher.

It's unknown what caused the car to go into the canal.
