Driver Sought After Traffic Dispute Leads to Fatal Shooting in Oakland Park: BSO

Authorities are searching for the driver of a pickup truck who was involved in a traffic dispute in Oakland Park that led to the killing of another driver.

Broward Sheriff's Office officials on Wednesday released surveillance footage of the truck that was involved in the Sunday night incident that left 27-year-old Ian Curtis dead.

Curtis, of Fort Lauderdale, had been involved in a traffic dispute with the driver of the pickup near the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard that ended in Curtis being shot.

Curtis was seen exiting his white Mercedes-Benz before collapsing onto the roadway, and was found by a passerby, officials said.

The passerby performed CPR on Curtis until Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived and rushed him to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The pickup driver fled the scene, and authorities are asking anyone with information to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
