Duo Poses as Landscapers, Steals $30K in Jewelry and Items From Elderly Miami-Dade Couple's Home: Police

Police are searching for burglary duo who they say stole nearly $30,000 worth of jewelry and other items from the southwest Miami-Dade home of an elderly couple.

According to investigators, the two subjects arrived at the home located off Camino Circle and Southwest 81st Drive on May 29th and told the victims – 88-year-old Enrique Macia and his wife of nearly 60 years, 82-year-old Raquel – they were landscapers.

After the female subject lured them out of the home, police say the male subject went inside and took items that included jewelry and silverware. Once they left the home, the couple noticed the items missing and called police.

Officials say the subjects were between 40 and 60 years old with the male being around 5-foot-4 and weighing 160 pounds, with low cut black hair and was wearing a khaki shirt and navy pants.

The female was said to be 5-foot-2 and weighs around 180 pounds with short black hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and colored pants according to the victims.
