False Imprisonment Trial Starting for Former Opa-locka Police Sergeant

The trial for a former Opa-locka Police sergeant accused of false imprisonment was expected to begin Tuesday.

German Bosque, 50, is accused of illegally handcuffing and detaining a man at the Opa-locka Police station after the man tried to file a complaint.

The man attempted to file the complaint on Aug. 3, 2011, after Bosque allegedly punched him while responding to a domestic call, authorities said. The man was held against his will and not allowed to file the complaint, authorities said.

Bosque, who also faces a misdemeanor battery charge, was fired by Opa-locka Police in October 2012.
