Fans Wait 10 Hours to Ride Universal Orlando's New Harry Potter Attraction

What to Know

  • The roller-coaster features a 17-foot-free- fall drop, making it the first of its kind in the U.S.

Strollers and brooms filled the walkways of Universal Orlando at the opening of the latest attraction of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure opened at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday and wait times reached 10 hours.

The massive lines for the park’s latest roller coaster did not discourage attendees.

According to WESH, an NBC affiliate in Orlando, this attraction is one of the most anticipated roller coaster openings this summer.

The ride is an immersive experience, with iconic scenes from the series meeting riders at every corner. The line, leading to the Forbidden Forest, is met with motorbikes for riders to use. The motorbikes feature sidecars, like the ones Hagrid and Harry used in the films.

Among the iconic scenes, the rollercoaster features a 17-foot free fall drop, making it the first of its kind in the U.S.

Riders "fly" through the forest and join Hagrid and friends on a search for his latest addition to his magical creature collection.
