A man was killed in a deadly crash in Davie early Thursday morning, authorities said.
The crash happened at I-595 westbound at US-441 just before 5 a.m. and shut down all traffic in the area for much of the morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Everton Wayne Smith, of Davie, was killed in the crash.
Smith was behind the whell of a Cadillac STS when he lost control and struck a concrete barrier wall and veered back into the westbound lanes, where his car was struck by another vehicle, FHP officials said.
The scene was later cleared and the lanes have since been reopened.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
