Father Searches for Son's Killer

$10,000 reward for info in Miramar Lakes murder as police seek person of interest

A father whose son's bloody body was found in a Miramar lake last week is making an emotional plea to help find the killer or killers and bring them to justice.

"My selfish reasons, I need to find out who did this and I need help," said a tearful Rene Dujarric. "Nobody knows anything and somebody out there does, somebody out there does, and I need them to say 'here,' let's right this wrong, lets give this child justice."

The body of Dujarric's son, also named Rene, was found last Tuesday, July 6, in a small lake in the Monarch Lakes neighborhood. The 23-year-old's body was face down and bloodied, his hands tied behind his back.

There appeared to be bruises and lacerations on the body's bloodied torso, according to police. The younger Dujarric had been living with his mother not far from where his body was found.

"My family's heart is broken and mine is broken and I need some justification and some justice for him," the elder Dujarric, 54, said.

By late Monday afternoon, Miramar police had issued a statement that they were trying to locate a person of interest, 23-year-old Pedro "Peter" Isreal Ferrada.

Ferrada and Dujarric knew each other and had even briefly lived together for awhile.

The Dujarric family has started a Facebook page offering a $10,000 reward for info leading to an arrest in the case.

Rene Dujarric Sr. just wants some help to solve the case.

"This is a good kid who did good things for other people and never waited for a thanks, he just did it," he said. "I need help, bottom line, I don't know what else to say."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS or the Miramar Police Department at (954) 602-4000.
