FHP Investigating Road Rage Shooting on Palmetto Expressway

A man was injured when another driver opened fire on him during a road rage shooting on the Palmetto Expressway Friday morning, officials said.

The incident happened in the southbound lanes of the Palmetto when the suspect, armed with a handgun, fired several shots at the victim's car, Florida Highway Patrol officials said. One shot hit the victim's window, causing minor injuries to his face, FHP said.

The shooter fled the scene, but the victim was able to get his license number and officials said they expect to make an arrest.

"Based on the statements that we got, I believe it was cutting in or improper change of lane that resulted in this confrontation," FHP trooper Joe Sanchez said. "This could have resulted in somebody losing their lives."
