Miami-Dade Fire Rescue workers and the Florida Division of Forestry responded to a large fire in northwest Miami-Dade Saturday.
The fire was reported in the area of the Florida's Turnpike and Okeechobee Road. Massive clouds of smoke from the scene could be seen for miles.
Officials said someone in the area had a burn permit when their fire somehow got out of hand.
About 10 acres had burned by Saturday afternoon, officials said. The fire posed no threat to any homes.
No other information was immediately known.
