An early morning fire destroyed a vessel docked at Dinner Key Marina early Wednesday.
According to Miami Fire Rescue, a security guard spotted the burning vessel around 4 a.m Wednesday and notified a resident who lived on a nearby boat.
Together, they attempted to put out the boat fire with dock hoses stationed at the marina but were unable to do so.
Miami Fire Rescue teams responded to the scene and put the fire out.
The approximately 45-foot vessel was destroyed. The security guard and resident salvaged surrounding boats to keep the fire from spreading.
There were no injuries reported in the fire. The value of the vessel is not immediately known.
The cause remains under investigation.
