Fire Sweeps Through Family's Pompano Beach Home

A woman, her parents and her elderly grandmother were displaced after a fire swept through their Pompano Beach house Thursday morning.

The fire was reported at the home in the 700 block of Northwest 17th Court just after 6 a.m.

"It was a crazy incident. You don't expect it to happen to you, but it happened," said Ashley Little, 20, who escaped the fire.

Footage from the scene showed several firefighters trying to put out the blaze as smoke poured out of the charred house.

Officials said no injuries were reported, but four residents were displaced by the fire. Little, her mother and her 83-year-old grandmother were home at the time; a fourth family member wasn't home.

The house is a complete loss. The cause of the fire was unknown but could be electrical, officials said.

"We're just thankful that we made it out alive," Little said.
