Firefighters Free Five Cats in Coral Way House Fire

Miami Fire-Rescue Department firefighters rescued five cats from a house fire in the Coral Way neighborhood that caused significant damage on Tuesday.

The fire occurred at 2250 SW 21st Street. Two adults were evacuated from the fire that occurred at the rear portion of the house, Miami Fire-Rescue Department spokesperson Capt. Ignatius Carroll said.

Firefighters went to the rescue of the animals after the residents informed them several family pets were inside.

Five cats were saved from the flames – one of which needed medical attention. All cats were later reported as healthy and were reunited with their owner. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
