Firefighters Put Out Fire at NW Miami-Dade Botanica Shop

Plumes of smoke billowed from a religious store in Northwest Miami-Dade, rescue officials say.

According to Miami Fire Rescue spokesperson David Nunez, officials responded to a call about a fire at a botanica shop located at a strip mall near Northwest 2nd Avenue and 59th Street.

"There was heavy smoke behind the roll up doors," Nunez said. "They had to make entry through the roll up doors. Once they made entry, there was a heavy fire at the rear of the structure."

Crews were able to contain and put out the fire before it spread to other businesses.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one was hurt as a result of the fire.
