Three wayward baby sea turtles trapped in a storm drain were given another chance at life after a gentle rescue by Broward County Sheriff's Office firefighters.
The BSO Fire Rescue & Emergency Services firefighters responded Saturday night after a good Samaritan informed Deerfield Beach's Fire Station 75 about the trapped hatchlings.
The person said the turtles were trapped in a storm drain right in front of the station.
The firefighters recovered the hatchlings, which may have gotten lost and fallen into the storm drain.
The responders returned the hatchlings into the waters – wishing them good fortune.
"A passion for compassion!" BSO said in a statement. "We wish the three little hatchlings the best of luck and a safe, long and healthy life."
