When it comes to higher education, Florida beats out all other states in the nation, according to the latest ranking from U.S. News and World Report.
That’s right: The Sunshine State ranks first in the nation for higher education, ahead of Washington, Wyoming, California and North Dakota, the report says.
U.S. News and World Report ranked states based on the number of citizens holding college degrees, as well as the time it takes students to complete two and four-year college degree programs. Cost of tuition and burden of debt were also measured. (The lower the debt graduates of four-year college carry, the higher the state’s ranking.)
Gov. Ron DeSantis tweeted about the news, saying: “Happy to announce that @usnews has ranked Florida #1 in higher education for the third consecutive year. Our state colleges and universities are transforming our education system by prioritizing affordability and pathways for careers.”
The report also mentions that Florida is home to three colleges that have ranked among the best in the nation – the University of Florida, the University of Miami and Florida State University.
Washington is the second best state for higher education, while Wyoming is the third. Click here to read the full report.
