Authorities say a Florida Keys man died while diving for lobsters.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reports in a news release that 60-year-old William Simko was diving in about 10 feet of water off Cudjoe Key Wednesday morning when he became distressed. The man's son and four others heard Simko calling for help from a nearby boat.
The release says the others brought Simko back to the boat and began CPR while radioing for assistance. A Navy helicopter responded and flew Simko to Lower Keys Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
