Florida Keys Man Found Passed Out in Running Car Full of Drugs: Authorities

Man found passed out in car facing drug possession charges after marijuana, cocaine found.

A Florida Keys man was arrested after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his car with bags of cocaine and marijuana inside, authorities said.

Orlando Grimon, 29, is facing drug possession charges after he was arrested on Stock Island Tuesday night, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities say a deputy was on bike patrol when he spotted a black Infinity with the motor running parked half in the roadway in the area of 9th Avenue around 9 p.m.

When the deputy looked inside he was Grimon passed out and lying on the front seat, the sheriff's office said.

The deputy knocked on the window but got no response so he opened the car's door and could immediately smell burnt marijuana, authorities said.

There were green leafy substances all over the car as well as a plastic bag with cocaine inside. As a tow truck driver was hooking the car up, deputies also found two large plastic bags in the car's wheel well, authorities said.

Deputies found about 8.8 ounces of marijuana in the bags, authorities said. When he was asked about the hidden marijuana, Grimon said "I was hoping they did not find that," authorities said.

Grimon is facing charges of possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine and was being held without bond Wednesday. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
