A man in the Florida Panhandle was arrested after police say he broke into a convenience store using a brick and piece of wood – all to steal a case of beer and packs of cigarettes.

Deputies responded to the store in Shalimar early Wednesday morning to find the front door shattered. Nearby, they spotted 53-year-old Michael Tabor walking with a 15-pack of Natural Light beer.

Police searched Tabor and found four packs of unopened cigarettes in his sock along with another pack in his shirt and one more in his pants pocket. Tabor told Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he waited nearby until the clerk left before breaking in.

Tabor was taken to jail where he faces several charges.
