A 22-year-old man in the Tampa Bay area is behind bars after police say he slapped a teen following a heated game of dodgeball.
According to NBC affiliate WFLA-TV, officers in Largo arrested Halid Dedic on charges of child abuse as well as previous charges of violating his probation. He was held on $5,000 bond.
Police say Dedic took part in the game at a trampoline park in the area and became upset when he was hit by a ball. Investigators say Dedic tried to tackle the 15-year-old victim before falling down, getting back up and running after the teen again – eventually slapping him and leaving a red mark on the victim’s face.
Witnesses said Dedic had been “trash talking” other players and threatened bodily harm to them throughout the game.
