A Florida man has been charged in the cold case killing involving a 28-year-old woman.
A U.S. Marshall's Task Force says Jonathan Adolfo Espinosa has been charged with second-degree murder and sexual battery in the 2012 death of Shirley Zerna
The victim was found dead in an apartment complex. Investigators believed she overdosed after a night of partying, but a medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.
NBC 2 News reports he was arrested this week and being held in the Fort Lauderdale area until he is transported to Lee County to stand trial.
Records did not list an attorney who could comment on the charges.
