Florida Prison Guard Charged With Introducing Contraband

A Florida Panhandle prison guard accused of having an improper relationship with an inmate has been charged with introducing contraband into the facility.

The Florida Department of Corrections reports that the Office of Inspector General arrested Sgt. Regina Belluz on Friday.

A news release says that the office began investigating Belluz after learning that she was exchanging provocative messages and pictures with the inmate. The release says Belluz even created a Facebook page for the inmate and designated them "In a relationship."

FDLE says Belluz confessed to bringing contraband to Madison Correctional Institution and Cross City Correctional Institution since March.

Belluz was being held at Madison County Jail on $10,000 bail. It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney.
