Footage Shows People Rescued From Bahamas Home Amid Dorian's Rising Floodwaters

Officials in the Bahamas have confirmed 20 deaths but said more are expected

Dramatic footage shows the moment a Bahamian family was rescued from the attic of their Freeport home by a civilian rescue boat as rising floodwaters from Hurricane Dorian nearly reached their roof.

The video shows a group of men on the rescue boat as it slowly makes its way through a neighborhood that felt the brunt of Dorian, which pounded the Bahamas with winds of up to 185 mph and torrential rain for days.

At one point, the rescuers come across a home and find a man dangling out of the attic, just a few feet above the water line. Several men, women and children are seen being pulled to the safety of the boat.

Officials in the Bahamas have confirmed 20 deaths but said more are expected.
