Former Dolphins Safety Louis Delmas Arrested Following Argument With Miami-Dade Police

A former member of the Miami Dolphins found himself behind bars after allegedly yelling at officers during a traffic stop.

Louis Delmas, who spent on year as a safety for the Dolphins in 2014, was a passenger inside of a vehicle pulled over by a Miami-Dade Police officer on Old Cutler Road near Southwest 157th Terrace shortly before 3 a.m. Monday.

While the officer was attempting to conduct a sobriety test on the car’s driver, Delmas began yelling at the officer, according to an arrest report. He was reportedly told to be quiet, but refused and was arrested on one count of resisting arrest without violence.

The driver was later arrested on several counts, including driving under the influence. Delmas was released on a $500 bond.

Delmas moved to South Florida as a teenager and later become a prep star at North Miami Beach High School. He would eventually be drafted by the Detroit Lions, where he played for five seasons before signing with the Dolphins. His return home would be cut short after tearing his ACL in a 2014 game against Baltimore.

He is currently listed as a free agent.
