Foundation Created in Honor of Missing Teen Boater

A foundation is being created to honor a teen boater who disappeared from the water, along with a friend, near Jupiter last month.

The parents of 14-year-old Austin Stephanos spoke about the foundation on Wednesday. They also spoke about not giving up hope that they will one day find the boys.

"In a situation like this, there is no closure. We don't know what happened. We would love to have some answers, but at this time, there are no answers," the parents said.

The foundation will be called the AustinBlu Foundation.

It will be dedicated to preventing near-shore and off-shore boating accidents through raising awareness and providing tools and education to boaters.

Stephanos and his friend, Perry Cohen, went missing on July 24. The United States Coast Guard suspended its search one week later.

The families ended their search on Aug. 8, but many volunteers have continued their efforts to find the boys.

Their boat was originally located by the USCG after the boys went missing, but has since disappeared.
