Four Shot in Opa-locka: Officials

Four people, including a preteen, were shot overnight in Opa-locka, city officials confirm.

The shooting happened in the area of 13450 Northwest 30th Avenue late Monday night. According to reports, someone came up and opened fire on a group of people in a parking lot.

One of the shooting victims went across the street to a store asking for help. Three of the victims were transported to Ryder Trauma Center, while the fourth victim drove themselves to the hospital for treatment.

Their conditions are not immediately known.

Both Hialeah and Miami-Dade Police are assisting in the investigation. There is no one in custody at this time. Police have not yet determined whether there was more than one shooter.

The investigation is ongoing.
