Police said the body of Cabreja, 18, was found at a construction site at Southwest 281st Street and 144th Avenue on Sept. 21. Cabreja was found with something tied tightly around her neck and a bag over her face and the cause of death was determined to be strangulation and blunt force trauma, police said.

According to police, Granados, Cabreja and another man were smoking crack when the two men attacked Cabreja, killing her. Cabreja and Granados knew each other from school, police said.

Granados is being held without bond, and it was unknown whether he has an attorney. Police are still looking for the second suspect1, and are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
