Mike Charbonneau told NBC affiliate WFLA-TV that his wife noticed the furniture moved against the front door of their home near Bradenton. When he looked at the video from their security cameras, Charbonneau saw the reptile get himself in a situation he could not escape from.

Video showed the gator walking toward the door with the furniture stuck on him just before 2 a.m., leading the beast to begin thrashing around trying to free himself. Eventually, the gator got free and stuck around for a minute before leaving to the side of the house.

The gator would return on camera for a moment, but later left for good. Charbonneau said none of the furniture or the family home was damaged.
