12-Foot Gator Weighing Over 460 Pounds Pulled From Florida Roadway

A gargantuan gator had to be pulled from a Florida highway after the massive creature was hit by a semi-truck.

The gator weighed more than 460 pounds and measured more than 12-feet, according to WESH 2 News. Officers in Tallahassee responded to the scene shortly after midnight on June 3.

The gator was crossing Interstate 10 westbound in Leon County when it was struck by the semi-truck, the station reported. Broderick Vaughan, a Florida Fish and Wildlife nuisance alligator contractor, told the station it was the largest gator he’s handled this year.

Vaughan also said it was the third gator they’ve trapped from a roadway.
